Pricing & Commissions

Floorcloth prices vary based on the amount of detail, the number of colors, and the complexity of the design. The following list offers general guidelines to floorcloth pricing.

$25/sq. ft. — Basic designs with color blocks and no applied texture, faux techniques, or detail. Examples: A simple checkerboard type pattern with border and all solid colors. A simple freehand design with minimal detail.

$30/sq. ft. — Basic designs with texture, faux techniques, or freehand detail work. Example: A simple checkerboard type pattern with a border and sponged, ragged, or marbled effects, or freehand detail. A simple checkerboard with a design incorporated such as a sunburst in the center.

$35/sq. ft. — A design with lots of detail and multiple colors. Example: A floorcloth with a large freehand picture painted in the middle and border designs.

Commissions (for $25–40/sq. ft): The commission price varies with design complexity. Commissions require a non-refundable consultation fee. The consultation fee is $20 per hour. The consultation includes using information about your tastes, color and style prefernces in conjunction with any samples that you supply. I will develop floorcloth design suggestions and sketches for you. Once we find the design for you, a price quote and estimated completion date will be submitted for your approval. Once the 50% deposit is paid and a Commission Agreement signed, the work begins on your floorcloth. To date, most of my floorcloths have been done on commission. My clients have been pleased with my work.
